It's a great idea. That's what was done for the last wedding in our family - my nephew's. They had their names and the wedding date on a stick-on piece (?don't know how to describe that), and inside the shot glass was a small organza bag with mini tootsie rolls in it (bride's candy obsession).

I personally wouldn't go with shot glasses.Like most have said they will probally go in the trash. I am wrapping up butter mints in tulle and I have just finished making 50 cd's full of all kinds of caribbean and beach music ( the weddings on the beach.)Then I have made a caribbean cd cover with our personal message and names and date. That might be an idea. good luck

We thought the same way, but decided to go with glass votive holders instead. We're filling them with personalized m&m's that are wrapped in tulle. Around the votive holders, we're wrapping little charms that say love and luck. We just didn't think shot glasses could be used by everyone, but we figured everybody can use a votive holder, even if they only use it for change in their bedroom.

that would be fine, filled with candy and wrapped in plastic or those tulle circles or something. Dressed up with some ribbon. You can also order candy wrappers with your name and date on them and put them on little pieces of choc. Little candles wrapped up, or matchbooks. You could have the shot glasses engraved with your name and date but that would be expensive. It NEEDS to have your name and date on it ,even a label of some sort to be a "memory" of your wedding. Look on Ebay or in a wedding book. No it isn't tacky. as long as something is in it and it has your name/date on it. Good luck!!!

I was just discussing favors with my sister who has had two weddings, and with my mom who had input in regards to my older brother's wedding a few years back. In all three cases, there were tons of favors left at the end of the reception; most people had left without them!

Your idea is nice, even unique! I like it… But unless you're sure your guests are going to be taking their favors with them, or you're not against being left with dozens of shot glasses filled with candy at the end of the night, I might consider an alternate idea for the favor.

That would be cute. If you don't want them customized then wrap them in some tule or tie ribbon around them. You can put customized m&m's in them too.

hmmm…I'm mixed on this. I love the idea of giving candy, you can't go wrong with edible favors because you can usually pawn them off with no problem.

However, the shot glass just seems like "something" to put the candy in. It almost makes it seem like you're trying too hard to make the favors special. I know rather receive the candy in a box with a nice ribbon. It's just a nicer presentation and let's people know that candy is the favor.

It takes the guess work out of what to do with a personalized shot glass when they get home. If you do the shot glass, most people will toss it. Therefore, it ends up being a waste of money. If they toss a box and ribbon, it's a little bit more understandable.

Plus, you can go on line to OrientalTrading.com and other websites, you can buy really nice boxes in bulk and ribbon to match. It will end up being 50 cent (if not less) for the packaging. I'd rather spend money on a 50 cent box that will end up in the trash, then a personalized shot glass that are like a $1.50 or more apiece, that will also end up in the trash.
