You can check out wedding favor sites that offer coupons. You can save a lot that way!

We ordered from a company called candlesandsuch.com. The coupon code we used was CNSNEWS and we got 10% off our wedding favors.

No matter how "usual" favors are, they are not required nor even customary. If you don't have them, a few slaves to The Wedding Industry may (mistakenly) believe that this is "weird" or "something missing." If you DO have them, more than a few guests will be thinking "Oh dear, now I have to deal with making sure I take this tawdry geegaw home, and then remember to drag it out and display the cheap thing every time they come to visit for the next year or so before I can decently hand it off to the Goodwill." Save your money for something worthwhile.

hot_sexy, I'm sure you didn't mean it that way, but it sounds like you are expecting your guests to EAT your candle holders.

I was married last fall. I made little "fortune cookies" (like a pocket) made out of paper, stamped with a "Stampin Up" fall leaves roller and then I filled them with jelly belly candy with fall colors. Then before closing them up, I attached a piece of paper (the "fortune") and on one side there was a message of thanks to the guests and the other side said our names and "lucky numbers" 10.7.07 (our wedding date).

How do you make the paper pocket?
take a piece of paper and roll it into a tube shape (it should look like a cardboard toilet paper tube) use double sided tape and staple to secure it. Then pinch one end shut and secure with double sided tape and staple. Fill with candy.
Here is the tricky part: secure the open end like the opposite end but fold it so that one end is vertical and the other horizontal. To me, it looks like a fortune cookie. before taping and stapling, add in the "thank you message".

You can make the pockets your wedding colors with your choice of paper color and then before creating the "pocket" decorate with stamps. The "Stampin Up" roller works like magic.

If you craft-challenged, you could purchase little boxes or use baggies and use a twist tie and fill with your choice of colored Jelly Bellies.

Don't do favors, since most people throw them out anyways…instead use the money to make a donation to an organization that you support and on each persons plate write a note that says, "In lieu of a favor the money was used to make a donation to ______________. Thank you for all of your love and support on our special day!" We did this at our wedding and everyone loved it! Plus you can feel good about using the money (how ever much you can afford) to a good cause!

we are doing a mixture of caramel apples and little individaul pecan pie tart. Keep the favors edible or do a charitable donation. Nobody wants the homemade CD's or dust collecting junk to clutter their homes. Stuff like that gets left behind or if your guests are polite they wait to trash them when they get home.

My fiance and I are involved in the Lance Armstrong Foundation so we are having the "LiveStrong" bracelets and a note saying a donation was made in this persons name. If you're not having a sweet table, you can have various glass jars with loose candy in them and have small bags on the side so our guests can help themselves. It looks cute-especially if you match your colors-and it's pretty cheap. Good Luck!
