Are personalized Shot glasses a good wedding favor?

Does anyone have any good websites that sell them at a reasonable price???? THANKS!
We want to put a candle in each of them so they have option of using them as a shot class or a candle holder.

a lot of people will tell you that they are not a good idea. And that anything personalized is not a good idea… or that shot glasses are tacky.

I had shot glasses for my wedding.. In order to dress them up, I got tulle circles and put M&M's or other small candies in them. Then rather than looking like I was suggesting people do shots, they were more of a candy holder that they could take home. And I saw them at people's homes since the wedding.

I got mine from http://www.discountmugs.com

They were in the ballpark of 65 cents each.

ADDED: A votive candle will NOT fit in a shot glass. That's what I thought too, until I tried it. BUT if you want votive cups, they have those too at that same site.

No, most people would probably leave them on the tables.

No. You have to think the days or night where you would use them are over.

No any type of trinket favor will most likely be left behind or thrown away. Stick with an edible favor (like chocolate which can be matched to your wedding colors — M&Ms for example).

It would be a little classier if you filled them with candy and put cloth and ribbon over them. In the back of wedding magazines are tons of places that specialize in wedding favors. Thats where I found mine (we did personalized picture frames).

No, I think that seems tacky.
Not everyone likes candles and not everyone drinks.
But it's your wedding so good luck.

I think most people will end up leaving them there. You might want to pick something a little less expensive… I've seen personalized cookies (cookies in the shape of letters of the names of the bride and groom), and those have been really popular. Any type of food (mints, m&ms) is a good idea, because they are relatively less expensive in bulk, they will get eaten while there, and guests wont have to worry about taking them home.

no , no one really cares or will use a shot glass with your name at home

i also personally believe a shot glass is promoting alcohol , not a great value to represent you both as a couple

i saw a cute one it was a mini mini clay pot .. there was a package of seeds in it .. i think it was sweethearts was name of flower … the pots had been painted the sage green color of the wedding .

a chocolate in a box is also a nice

Nothing personalized is a good favor. I really dont need stuff with "Mike & Mary Together Forever 1999" in my house. Its a useful gift, but its wierd to have stuff like that.
Weddign favors are almost always left behind. Go with something edible that people will munch at the table.

I'm gonna be honest….I don't want to take home something with bride and groom's name on it if that's what you mean.

I agree with everyone else. I personally think that personalized anything will be left on the table. Would you want a shot glass with someone elses name on it? I would never use anything like that and would probably throw it away when I got home. If you are going to do favors make it something edible. Better yet spend the money that you were going to spend on favors an more appetizers or a fancy signature drink. Most people will not notice the lack of favors but will notice great food or a fancy drink. I say skip favors all together.

What about a nice photo frame? Necklaces for the girls (they can wear them in the wedding).

I don't know, I kind of think "par-tay" related favors like that are a little tacky. My boyfriend went to a wedding and the favor was a "koozie" (to hold beer cans) that said "I went to Alex & Sara's wedding and all I got was this damn koozie!" I just think it's not in line with the occcasion to have those kinds of favors, unless you're have a REALLY casual wedding.

Would YOU use a shot glass with someone else's name on it? Whether it is a shot glass or a candle holder, no one really wants something personalized from a wedding. In fact, no one really wants a favor at all. The edible kind of favors are a little better because you're not stuck with a useless trinket. However, if you polled wedding guests, my guess is 99.5% would say they wouldn't have noticed or minded if there wasn't a favor.

no i dont think that shotglasses are a good wedding favor. Go with something edible. they can eat it there. If they forget it, no big deal. I've seen people give small bags of a special coffee mix with their names and date on it. at my wedding, we got plastic spoons(in our wedding colors), white tulle, silver hershey kisses, and ribbon (in our colors). We put 3 or 4 kisses on a spoon, wrapped the tulle around the bottom, and tied on a message with the opposite colored ribbon. The message said, "A spoonfull of kisses from the new Mr. and Mrs. (name). April 14, 2007" Everyone commented on how cute they were, and we didnt have to worry if any got left behind. good luck, i hope I gave you some kind of idea.

My fiance and got personalized shot glasses for our wedding and we are filling them with a candy of some sort. But we got them at http://www.discountmugs.com…the more you buy, the less they are. We paid under $200 for 170 glasses, including shipping…And they turned out great!
