Wedding Shower Favors: What should be included?

My husband and I are throwing a wedding shower for very good friends of ours and I am working on favors right now. The shower is keeping with their wedding colors, black, white, and red. So I am making black pillow boxes that will be tied with black and white ribbon and a red sticker with their monogram on it. I am wanting to fill them with small things that represent the couple. So far I have chocolates filled with Kahlua (to represent their mutual love of coffee and chocolate) and two small square marble magnets that are of dogs (to represent their love of dogs). There will also be a small card inside stating what each item is for. I would like to include one or possibly two other small items but I am having trouble coming up with ideas. I don’t want to do anything that will end up in the trash immediately.
Things they like:
mixed drinks, gardening, cooking, wine, and traveling.

*I know that favors are not necessary or expected, it’s just a little something that I am doing to finish off and round out the party.
The seeds are a great idea thank you!

I wanted to add, they also have a serious love of fruit, cheese, and entertaining if that helps at all…
And movies! They love movies!

Invdividual packets of mixed "butterfly mix" flower seeds would be perfect. These tend to grow anywhere and would not only represent their love of gardening, but also the growing of a relationship.
You have some great ideas; it sounds like fun!

A recipe with a good wine pairing on a cute card. It’s simple and cheap. You could also ask them if they have a favorite recipe and use that.

Wine charms (although, this is a little more expensive if you have a lot of guests, and you probably don’t want to give only one to each person).

I think the other suggestion about seeds is excellent!

Shot glasses since they like mixed drinks.

    Wine corks
