I’m doing the whole DIY thing. Most EVERYTHING I’m doing in my wedding is diy. I’ve been browsing some favor ideas and I can’t find anything that’s really diy…it’s all buy the boxes, bags, etc and fill them yourself..I just wonder if there are anymore ideas that I can put together and do on my own without buying the pricey candy holders that most overlook anyways! hehe
BTW My Colors are Fushia and Orange and I’m looking for something to tie into that!
Favors are optional. If they are not edible, they get left behind and most people won’t miss them if they aren’t there. To incorporate your colors, you could do cookies with colored icing. Homemade molded chocolates are easy and you can get all the supplies at the local Walmart.

I just went to a wedding that had really cute wedding favors. They had a small box and a ribbon (in the wedding colors). Inside the box were a handful or Hershey kisses. On the bottom of each was a small round sticker picture of the the two kissing. Very cute and I can’t imagine it being so expensive since it was personalized with their picture.

For my wedding, we plan to just have mini martini glasses (Both Walmart and A.C.Moore sell them in the wedding isle) filled with personalized M&M’s in out wedding colors.
Here are others
~Mini favor pails filled with nuts and tied with personalized ribbons stamped with your wedding date
~Personalized CD’s of the happy couple’s favorite songs
~Mini travel candles personalized with a mini oval label

I watch a lot of wedding shows. I have been seeing a lot of dessert bars or candy bars. The guest get to fill little containers with treats to take home and they are usually in wedding colors. I also saw a wedding that had these frosted cookies as favors.

You can make your own bags to fill. I like handmade soap.

My cousin made cd’s of the music that was the same music the DJ played at the reception. It was a great cd to have, the music he selected was great and appealled to all age groups. Every time I listen to it, it brings back fun memories of that night. He and his wife also made a insert to put in the cd holder with their photo. It was very nice

Firstly, you don’t have to give Favors but there are some traditional items such as sugared almonds, photo frames, or garden seeds. These could be wrapped in packets or envelopes that you could make yourself using origami patterns off the web.
You could personalize the packets or some candy wrappers using your printer.
