Something with the kanji symbol for love might work. If you are a computer DIYer, pick up a free printable kanji love symbol here: http://www.luckyicons.com/ (it's about halfway down the page).

Buy some mini photo refrigerator magnets. I've bought them from Target in the past. Buy some nice handmade Japanese rice paper, confetti paper or other decorate paper—Staples or Office Max has a selection of specialty papers.

Use Microsoft Word, open a blank page. Draw a box the size of the magnet for a guide. Import the image and reduce it, then type your names and wedding date on top of the symbol. Beneath, type "Love". Use a nice calligraphic font. You will have to set this up on the page several times so you don't waste the paper. If you don't know how to do this, ask a friend who knows Microsoft Word well to set this up for you. You could also print this out in color.

Trim to size of magnets, insert--voila, a very nice personalized favor that you made. Your guests will surely cherish this.
References :
I found white paper fans at www.japaneseweddingfavors.com that I was going to use for our hot, outdoor July wedding, but decided it looked to much like an Asian-theme (which we do not have). There were 100 for $70 (including shipping).
References :
You can get asian coins, small jade dragon figurines, even oragami items (this would be a really fun bridesmaids party! Just buy oragami paper and a book with instructions, and make cranes, flowers, whatever. Then tuck them into the take-out boxes), paper fans (try orientaltrading.com), or chopsticks.
References :
I love the idea of the take out box and fortune cookies. You could also put in some chopsticks. And I think it woud be cute and fun to maybe throw in one of those chinese finger traps or maybe one of those plastic fortune fish like the ones seen here : http://partyoptions.net/ethnic/asian_party_favors.htm

This site has a lot of pretty stuff that's alot more age appropriate : http://www.allinonefunfavors.com/asianfavors.html

If you go to any of the site I've listed you have to go to this one I guarantee that this site will give great ideas and you may even want to buy what they have. It's perfect for what your looking for:
