Help with wedding! party favors?

ok I clearly I’m having a million questions. One of which is about wedding favors. Do you get different things for each person or party? do I get one per person or one per group? I mean do i just buy these fancy potato peelers (which originally brought me to this question, because if you are supposed to buy one item per person and give it to all of em, i doubt a table full of potato peelers is the right idea) or do I select different gifts for each person? how do i decide! how do i give them out! help me!!
The reason i ask is because my girl is panicing trying to find wedding favors. I didn’t even know that such things existed!

Ok well I’m going to try and answer your question but its hard to understand…you must be puzzled lol. I’ve had plenty of those moments :)
There should be a favour for each guest. They can be different if you like but most of the time, they are usualy the same. Some people use candles as favours. I’ve heard of the bride and groom sometimes have them engraved for each guest but I would assume that can get costly. Another idea is to have little jars of candy with a sticker on it or a note attached saying ”Mr and Mrs X Thank you for sharing their special day (insert date here)” Some people little matchboxes with something like that written on them. I like the idea of filling little organza bags with m&m’s or candy of some sort.
The other thing incase you weren’t aware already is that these do not count as gifts for attendants (bridesmaids, groomsmen…etc.) They get other gifts like cuff links or jewellery.
Here’s a link where you can check out some more favour ideas anyway: http://www.rosemarycompany.com/1512.html#Favors

I don’t know about party favors but you should put like disposable(sp?) cameras on the tables and have the guest take random pictures of the wedding. This is always fun for everyone.

Well what I have seen and have done is put all the party favors in a nice basket for people to grab and ask that there be one per person. But if you are getting something for your wedding party like let’s say for the groomsmen then get all watches( u can go to Jewelry warehouses and get deals ) or if you really know them well you can get them each something different. Get what I am saying. For other people in the party like the director family memebers who are a part of it. Get them gift certificates or a nice photo of you and the bride in a nice frame. I hope I have helped. Good luck

There’s really no rule that says you have to supply your guests with trinkets. Save yourself some money here.

When is your wedding, do you have any kind of a theme (like beach or tropical, etc.) and what are your wedding colors? Those questions might help me to give you more unique ideas.

Usually though, wedding favors are as simple as a bundle of chocolates or something personalized, like a book of matches.

I am here to the rescue :) tell your bride to take a deep breath and just relax ..all this stuff is suppose to be fun!! Alright, the wedding party favors for the guest are generally all the same, that’s why they sell them in sets or the more you buy the cheaper they are. It’s also kind of a decoration to tie in with your colors and theme!! I got 2 different party favors but they went together! One was a little bride and the other was a little groomsmen and it had our names and wedding date and we filled them with little red candy hearts to go with our colors and everyone adored them!! check out this site to get some ideas http://www.myweddingfavors.com/unique-favors.html they are totally affordable and they have lots of cool things so I hope you find something that fits perfectly. Now for the actual wedding party, you usually get them a nicer gift as a thank you! I got my bridesmaid Tiffany bracelets with their initial carved on the heart, this was pricey but because I was overseas and they practically planned the whole thing for me, I had to spoil them! We got the groomsmen nice silver flasks with their name and our wedding date engraved on them as well!! Tell your soon to be wife to think about a cute bracelet or necklace as a gift from a shop that her friends love!! :) something small but priceless!! good luck and congrats!!

Ive got this one. Nobody likes to keep something permanent, ie a personalized potato peeler. The only reason you don’t throw it away is because you feel bad. Personalized candies are classy, memorable and tasty. For example you can go on the hershey kisses website and order kisses in any color. On the little tag sticking out, you can have written your name and wedding date. Scattering them on the table is just fine. Similar to the m&ms. YOu make little baggies of personalized m&ms. Tell her bout this. I guarantee she will love it!

Wedding favors are the least of your problems, and probably the easiest things to get. Firstly, yes, you need one per person. (Don’t get potato peelers, please) Here are some ideas for your wedding favors.

There’s Tons more, where that came from. To give them out you place one gift in front of each plate at the reception, or you can physically hand them out when they say goodbye to you as they walk out the door. Either way is fine.

    Same favor for all guests.

Potato peelers is a fine, practical favor. Go for it.

    Good luck

The best thing to do with favors is one per couple and try to base it on the theme of your wedding if you have one.

For example, if it is a beach or summer theme, you may want to pick a beach style favor: http://www.favorsandaccessories.com/beach-wedding-favors.html

If you are going to be using Calla Lily’s as flowers, you can get a Calla Lily themed favor:
    http://www.favorsandaccessories.com/calla-lily-themed-favors.html

There are favors for all themes and seasons, it is just which one works well for your style. You can find many practical favors that your guests will find useful. Think about what you would want to receive if you were a guest, a personalized glass that will go into the closet? - or something useful.
