Go to Walmart, buy a few boxes of small butter mints (about $2.50 per box) then go to the craft dept and buy some netting, then have them in a ton of colors for about $1.00 per yard and some ribbon, about .88 cents a spool. Cut the netting, put butter mints in the center, and tie it up with the ribbon. Your guests will appreciate havinng fresh breath after dinner.

For our wedding, I went to wal-mart and bought little clear plastic treat bags in the craft section, then purchased white chocolate/yogurt covered pretzels. I put a few in each bag with some irridescent colored easter grass, tied them with a ribbon, and a little tag that I had printed on my computer that said "We Tied the Knot!" Total for a 125 person wedding was under $50, and I got a lot of compliments on how cute and creative they were.
Another of my friends bought lollipops in bulk from Sam’s Club, then tied ribbon around them with a computer print out that said "_______ & _______ : Suckers in Love!" It was cute and funny.

If funds are low, why not just skip favors? They’re nothing but a "fake" tradition invented by the wedding industy for the purpose of selling you tacky garbage that nobody really wants. I assure you that forty years ago no one had ever heard of wedding favors and that few, if any, of your guests will even notice their absense.

I agree with the answer of edible favors. How about making fortune cookies. They are extremely easy to make, you can make several different flavors and colors just by adding flavoring and food coloring. Make up the "fortunes" on the computer. Some cute little romantic / loving phrases on the front and on the back your names and wedding date. Figure on making at least 2 per person. You don’t even have to wrap them. Put several in a bowl on each table, they would even make interesting centerpieces.

Why not consider ditching the favors? Most of them are a waste of money, anyway. Use the money in other areas, like nicer refreshments, etc. Believe me, most people won’t miss them.
