I am planning my sisters wedding shower and can't find anything for the favors. Don't want the corny usual favors like nasty mints or candy that was ordered from a weird website. Something the people will like and not throw away. Nothing super expensive.

At my bridal shower, the hosts gave out jars of a spiced tea mix. Its a mix of dry ingredients like Tang, iced tea mix, and a few other things… you mix it with water and its a nice hot drink. They also attached a little card with the recipe for the mix.
I agree, foods from websites are usually nasty. Look in your own recipe box or online for something simple but nice. Really, the best favors are edible. People are getting really tired of trinkets like frames and bath soaps.
how about candles or picture frames.

I know you dont want anything from a weird website, but there is a website call theknot.com that offers all kinds of very inexpensive shower and wedding favors. there are hundreds to choose from and you could also tell the bride about it too it offers great tips for planning the wedding! hope it helps. I have been using it for my wedding!
