Im having a small wedding with just family,it is ok to just give candy as favors?

none of the guys that will be there will pay any attention to the favors,so I thought about doing hershey kisses wrapped in tulle for men and women. And give all the women a wooden rose and give mother of the bride and groom a dozen wooden roses. The roses look nice nothing cheap. And I thought about giving the kids little bags of candy and a little toy to keep them busy. All children will be under 8 yrs old. What do ya ll think of all that?

Have you thought about just not doing favors at all? I know that when you are in Wedding Industry Land you are surrounded by voices telling your that everyone is eager to judge your character and creativity by your choice of favors, but the real life fact is that most people won’t even notice if you have favors or not. Many people hate getting favors, as it’s just "Junk I have to fool with" and the Goodwill Store is hip deep in discarded favors.

I think the idea of something like coloring books and crayons for young children is good, but aside from that favors are pretty much a waste of your time and money, not worth stressing about.

You’ve obviously thought it through, and it would have to be one of the most sensible (yet thoughtful) ideas i’ve ever heard. Wedding favours you can actually use. Go with it.

i think those are GREAT gift ideas

for my sis-in-laws wedding we bought the small
mints (pink, green, yellow, orange) forget what they
are called….wrapped them in tulle, and then i crocheted
a HUGE pile of little baggies to put them in……
we bought some thin ribbon to ty the bags with and
put their name and wedding date on ribbon with pen

i LOVE the idea of wooden roses………how incredibly
    inventive…….
a memento that will last FOREVER

    Good Luck
    Congratulations

Candy favors are traditional are perfect. I suggest skipping the wooden rose, I would not welcome a trinket that is not to my taste. Stick with the candy.

I did almost the same thing at my wedding. Hershey kisses are always yummy! The roses sound nice and that is a good idea with the kids.
