Would this be cute as a wedding favor?

I wanted to have a glass type wedding favor, so I was thinking of taking empty baby food jars and decorating them with ribbon or something, and putting candy in them. Then on the top I would put a circle sticker over it with our names or something on it. I just can’t afford to pay almost $200 for glass wedding favor jars from online companies and I sure can’t justify either. So would that look weird or awkward for someone. here is the theme I am trying to go for-click the link.

Check Walmart - I purchased the little boxes w/pink ribbons (50!) for $9.00 on clearance at the store. Online they are $19.

That would be very cute! As long as you don’t look at them and instantly think "those are baby food jars" and the stickers on the covers are wide enough to hide "Gerber", it will be a lovely wedding favor :-)

well a babyfood jar won’t sit on it’s side like that. I don’t think you will be able to get the same look.

I did a search and it seems like the company you show there is one of the most expensive for that favor. (at 1.75 it sound like you need about 100) so here are some other ones I saw when googled that are half the price or less:

    http://www.icestandard.org/products/view/26320/a-lucky-pair-vegas-themed-candy-jars.html (87 cents each)

    http://search.favorfavor.com/personalized%20glass%20jar%20favors–vw-ppc?utm_nooverride=1&vcn=google&vcad=WeddingFavorsBroad_DynamicSearchAllProductTitles&cid=GooglePPC_DynamicSearchAllProductTitles&gclid=CPzl-_jOgpwCFQ6jagodzDAm-g (about 85 cents each)

http://factorydirectcraft.com/catalog/products/15978-2_glass_favor_jars_with_lids_package_of_9.html (sold in sets of 9 for $7.99 making them bout 88 cents each)

http://www.pricewisefavors.com/personalized-glass-jar-winter-p-675.html?utm_campaign=Nextag&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=Nextag (on sale 70 cents each)

besure to google the company name or site name for promotional codes for these sites as well to save even more money. (ie type in favor favor promotional codes and here you go http://www.retailmenot.com/view/favorfavor.com 15% off total order. this usually includes tax and shipping. ) try to find the coupons with higher sucess rates and be sure to look at expiraton dates. during check out just enter the code from the coupon you chose to use where you see promotional code and it could say you alot on shipping or % off. If you enter it and it does not give you the discount cancel order start over and find one that does.

Keep looking, don’t give up you will find exactly what you want without breaking the bank. I have cut costs drastically on my wedding this way (and believe me in the beginning I didn’t think it would work either).

please don’t. if you have to ask if they are "cute" you must be under 20.

no one will notice you don’t have favors. they end up in the trash anyway.

This looks very cute. In fact the color of the candy or treat inside the glass container plays an important role in this wedding favors beauty. According to me, using pink or rose colored candies in the glass wedding favor will be good. I have found some more ideas that will interest you. Have a look at http://www.favors-n-gifts.com/cat–Favors-under-$1–Favors+under+$1.html which I found just now. I like them because they are cheap

Yes that would be cute. How about you save some jars from when you cook food e.g gravy jars etc. Or go to a dollar store and see if they have small jars you can use.
