The few places I saw carmel apples for sale in bulk was a little expensive for me. I only want to spend $2.00 max per favor. Sounds cheap but thats all I can afford, because we have other gifts for guest. Anyway… If I can not find a cheap place to make my apples I would make them myself. Ihave done it before for halloween parties, they came out great. My problem with that is…How long can I store them? Could I freeze the carmel apples? Iknow the candy ones will crack. I will have so much to do around the time of my wedding I just want to get these cute favor ideas done. Thanks

Hi there first of all cute idea, but may I be so bold to suggest two types of favors? Because maybe you dont realize that older people with dentures may have their teeth come out and stick on the apples lol,,,not funny if its your wedding day.

That is the cutest thing I’ve ever heard of! Candy and Carmel apples will go over well - people love unique gifts - especially ones they can eat! Don’t fret, this is the perfect job for an attendant. Enlist at least two people to be the makers and keepers of the apples. Supply the ingredients and then turn it over. As you said, you’ll have way too much to worry about and there are only so many ways you can ruin a candy apple. This is going to require you to not be a control freak - as brides we want everything perfect - which usually means we think we have to do it ourselves. This is a huge thing I’m learning - let go of some things and let others help (it’s hard). So, show the persons what you envision - use clear cellophane to wrap them in and a small bow in the color of your theme and then let it go. Obviously you can "check up" on it once - mid project - but as I said, there’s only so many ways to mess it up. Great choice! Congrats and good luck.

Make it a girls day and have your attendants (bridal party) help you make the favors. You could have a bridal luncheon and then after everyone could pitch in and help you make the candy apples. You could do this a week before your wedding.

I would suggest having them professionally done and get a variation of flavors for your guests. The reason being, you as the bride should not be making your favors days before your wedding - you should be relaxing and enjoying yourself right up to the big deal! Super cute idea - best of luck!!!

awesome idea! i love it! i think if you made them with the smaller apples it would look better than a big apples (plus all that wedding cake)… but you know how the phrase goes, "good things comes in small packages" kind of idea, and it might be cheaper… just a suggestion

you can freeze them, and they should last a while!! we’ve frozen pretty much any cooked object in my house, and i’d say you could probably make them a mont to 2 months in advance, but don’t quote me!! i’ve never made caramel apples! if you lived anywhere near me, i’d tell you to go to the PUmpkin fest, where candy apples are pretty cheap (i live in NY, so apples are always cheap here in fall!! in fact there’s a cider mill about 5 minutes from my parents house!) and caramel apples are a really good favor idea!! i would have never thought about that at all!!
