I am planning a wedding that will fall on the month of June. It is an summer, outdoor, semi-classy (leaning more towards classy) wedding theme.
Outdoor Summer-Formal wedding.
I think the little flower seed packets that you can get at the dollar stores. You can get like 10 little packs for $1.00, tie ribbon around it with a little note that says something like plant these seeds in your garden and remember us when you see the beautiful flowers. it probably needs to sound more poetic, but sorry i am not a poet. hope this idea helps, and congrats

Take a candle and put a sticker on it that has the name of the two people getting married and the date that they get married, then wrap it in a nice see-through kinda gauze material, put a small bow around it, and get some bendable rings and insert them around the ribbon. As a finished product it should be a candle wraped with a bow and two rings.

A few ideas:
- Pretty fans tied with ribbon
- Personalized food– fortune cookies, petit fours, cookies, pots of jam
- Miniature plants or miniature vases with a flower (tie tags to these with ribbon to double as an escort card)
Look at http://www.theknot.com and http://www.beau-coup.com for these items and to get other ideas.

Researching favors for my own outdoor wedding.
Hand out mixed cd’s that have you and your fiance’s favorite love songs on them. Everyone usually likes music, and it will be a fairly affordable favor that people with actually use, perhaps time and time again. Add on the songs that you know will be played at the wedding, such as your 1st dance, the father daughter dance song, and other classics. Then the cd will also be a memory of the wedding.

i am getting married in the fall and we are going through this same issue
we decided to make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. We are planning on having a card made that will be placed on everyone’s plate so they see it when they sit down at the reception. Most people throw away the small stuff they get as wedding favors and it’s not worth it to waste all of that money on something that is going to be tossed into the garbage/left on the table/lost in the person’s trunk or back seat.
this way the money you spend is actually used for something good
Think of a charity that you and your significant other are interested in and make a donation…

Buy lots of littles candies and some clear glass vases in different sizes. Fill each vase with candy. Go to Michael’s or a hobby store and buy little plastic bags and small scoops. Make a sign that says something like thanks for making our day so sweet or something like that. Let each guest fill a bag with candy to take home. Much better than something that will just get thrown away.
