What to get for kids as a wedding party favor?

Ok, a friend of mine is planning a wedding, and has NO idea what to get as party favors for the children. The kids’ ages range from 9-14, both boys and girls. Any ideas?

Kids of all ages love candy. Anything else is probably going to go to waste, but they’ll hang on to chocolate! Well, until it is gone.

Depending on your friends budget, they can get personalized chocolate bars, which the girls will think are soooo romantic, or simply make up some little candy favor bags if the candy bars are beyond her spending limit (I think they run about $1-1.50 each depending on what you get.)

Hope the waiting goes beautifully.

Engraved or embossed jewelry or music boxes for the girls. Whatever your budget allows for. It can be something they will always have that’s the same and special. Or you can do a special framed photo for each child of them holding their special childhood toy or with a parent (or both parents) in a 5×7 folding frame so that the other side can contain a poem saying something about holding on to their childhood or being special or anything you like.

If it doesn’t have to be meaningfull, you can always have the limo take them to the movies :-) All dressed up and away from the parents. Maybe one older teen can chaperone.

Or a movie themes bucket with tickets, popcorn and their favorite candy?

    best wishes

For my wedding I just put together a little "party pack" for each of them. For the girls I put princess stuff (tiaras, wand, jewelry) for the boys I put cars and bugs and things like that. They loved it!

Does your friend know what she is getting the adults because it would be good to make them match somehow. Kids always like candy and chocolate, perhaps heart or almond shaped chocolates? You can get wedding puzzles and games that fold up and fit in a little box or organza bag to give as a favor to the kid. Look at ebay for those. The kids arent that young so they may appriciate and feel grown up if they get given the same favors as the adults.

Ages 9-14 is a tough age. For the most part, they are not really young enough for little trinkets. They are in that tough tween stage.

The girls are actually easy - nail polish, lip gloss, inexpensive jewelry, etc. All would make great favors. The boys may be a bit tougher depending on your budget. You can find 100 piece puzzles, brain teaser books, small model/craft kits. I’ve seen Magic Trick kits at the dollar store.

Other than that, unless it is inappropriate, they will probably be okay with whatever the adults get. Just a bag of candy would probably make them very happy as well.

Getting little chineese take-out-boxes and having a kids only candy bar is a really cute idea. gives them a chance to load up on sweets becaue they really arent going to want to keep a nice gift. They would much rather get a sugar high.
