This is my first wedding and i was ask to make party favors, bridemaids, grooms bride and Groom flowers plus make centerpieces and decorate gift card box and all others that come to make the wedding nice. How do i charge my fee? or do i charge by how much i have to spend on each items.(Example centerpiece 8×30 each 240.00 now should i charge more for my time. i total 1,057.00 for everything, now should i charge a fee for my time or is that to much. Is half 500.00 for my time. she like my creations of work. help me
I had a friend do my flowers as well and a few extra things too.. She did the cost of the materials (flowers, jars, baskets, tape, corsage pins, etc) She went and price out every thing and gave me a break down of what the cost would be for each item ( my bouq was $35.00, bridesmaids were $20 etc..)
Then took the over all cost of materials ($425.00) for everything and then multiplied it by two ($850.00) Was what she charged me in total.I thought it was more then a far price!
She has also been a friend since 6Th grade! She said she thinks she charge the same to others but maybe add 20%, but for friends and family only charge the materials x2.
It all up to you and how much time and effort you want to be paid for.

I do the cost per item plus your time. An additional $300 maybe for your time and travel costs picking up everything.
See how that goes and next time charge more!

I would guesstimate how long it’s going to take you to do everything and then decide how much an hour you think you deserve to get paid. $10, $20? Up to you, and then do the math and there is a starting point…
You could also call local florists and see how much they charge and maybe do 1/2 that, since it’s your 1st wedding

I think that $1500 is not a bad price considering that this is your first wedding. After this one you will be able to add the wedding to your resume. The bride likes your work so I am sure she won’t complain.
Make sure you charge for any supplies that are specific to this event. The florist I am using offers a package deal that provides the florals/decor for ceremony and reception for $2500. I don’t know how he charges. I am using live flowers for everything except the bridesmaid bouquets. I looked on Ebay for some ideas and I noticed that they charge per item. Either way its a lot of work. You could profit more than 500.00 if you charged by the hour. Do you have to set up the centerpieces at the ceremony/reception? If so, I would factor in gas and additional time. maybe 750.00.

You definitely need to charge for your time, so figure out how much you feel your time is worth and charge accordingly.

You need to charge for your time unless your time is a gift to the couple.
