Comments on: Bridal Shower etiquette. Should the invitations, the favors, etc for the bridal shower mirror the wedding?

As long as the shower is not a surprise, why not ask her? If she wants the theme and colors to be fresh in her head, she might not want people getting a "preview" at the shower. Certainly, to use the same favors would be redundant, and when people got to the wedding and saw the same thing, would likely think, "Why are they giving these out AGAIN?" Weddings are such personal things, and you don’t want to step on her toes (even though, yes, you are being very generous.)

Good luck. I’ve been to many showers and I’ve never seen a theme matching the wedding’s. I can see it if it’s a theme she’s totally into in her life (such as, if the wedding has a NASCAR theme, and NASCAR is her life. And no, NASCAR is not a realistic theme for a wedding–just using it as an example).

I like the idea of them matching, but it would be extra cool to make it a little wild and crazy to actually make it a little different.

Ask the bride what she thinks. Most likely she’ll think it’s a wonderful idea, but ask her anyway.

It’s fine if they do - in fact, some of the things may be able to be reused for the wedding decorations somewhere in the hall or for the gift opening the next day.

No I doubt it she’ll be glad that you like her colors enough to use them for her party. But make sure you’re not stealing her thunder with anything. It could be similar just don’t be the same. Example: same favor ideas etc. There is a point where it gets more than just similar.

It is the host’s choice completely. In some of the weddings that I have been in we have kept the theme or even just the color scheme in others we have had no theme.

The host of the bridal shower is not obligated to follow any particular theme. The host is generously giving a party and it is her choice of decor/theme.

Totally, it’s always important to have everything to do with your wedding if it’s related to your wed. If your trying to have a dream wed. then I would totally take my advice! Weddings are awesome
