there is a type of card stamp out there in craft shops where you can choose the letters for the stamp and once the stamp is transfered on a surface you cover it with a powder and dry it with a hot blowdryer this powder makes the letters stand out. the only problem might be that the surface of the shell is ridged which might cause a problem. just pop into a craft shop and ask them bout it im sure they will give u some great advice. good luck

There is no way you can get any sort of lettering on the shells once you have glittered them. If you have a labeling machine ( mine is a Brother P-Touch model PT-310, but it has some age on it ), You can actually print out labels that are stencils. You print what you want, apply it to the inside of the rather flat shell, and apply gold stencil paint. For the other shaped shell, my suggestion would be to use the stencil you create to print out a ribbon to attach to the inside of the shell, and have the greeting extend outside the shell. How about mounting them on a piece of foam core board that you spray paint, and have your message printed on the bottom?

i dont think u should put it on the shells, a bit expensive.
but, i think what you could do, u could serve the cake on a REAL plate, not a plastic/disposable, and on the plate, u can put " Ashley & Gabriel August 18, 2007"

Go to party city and have a ribbon printed with your name and date. Then glue it on to the shell. You could apply it across the front or across the bottom.

You can make your own rub on transfer with your printer and acetate sheets for your computer. I think the sheets are like $9 at Michael’s for pkg of 10. Make sure that your computer program can flip the text so that the transfer shows the writing properly. Fontgarden.com has tons of free downloads for any type of font you need. Make sure this goes on before the glitter though! Cute idea…Congratulations.

You could stencil or paint them on, or use paint pens, but it has to go on before the glitter and primer.

I was looking at that photo which you said was your inspiration..I think it’s been stencilled on.

I guess what you can do (if you haven’t put the glitters on the shells yet), would be to make a stencil of your names and use an appropriate ink or paint (ask you craft shop for suggestions, different shops carry different brands) to put them on before you do the glitters.

The shells on the picture look great, and congratulations on your wedding!

There’s this paper that is originaly used to put name covers on CD’s but you can use that paper get the writting written and press on the seashells.That’s what one of these girls I knew did and they came out good. Goodluck!
